# Parel

> One connector that gives any AI agent paid data tools (web search, research, email finding, SEO and AI-visibility checks, social media data), billed per call in Indian rupees from a prepaid balance. Failed calls, empty results and repeated calls are always ₹0.

## What it is

Parel sits between an agent and about 25 paid data providers (Google results via Serper, Exa, Firecrawl, Hunter, DataForSEO, cloro, ScrapeCreators, Valyu and others). The agent sees our tool names, one schema per tool, one price in rupees, and one balance. We hold the vendor accounts, make the call, charge only when a useful answer comes back, and show every call with its cost in the dashboard. Indian rupees, UPI and cards, GST invoices.

## When to use it, and when not

- **Use it when** the task needs live or paid data: structured Google results for a country or language, news, maps, a person's work email and whether it is deliverable, company and person data, keyword volumes and rankings, backlinks, what ChatGPT answers about a brand, recent Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, Reddit or X content, a page behind a JavaScript app, a cited research report.
- **Do not use it** for a quick fact your built-in web search already answers, or for a service the user already has their own key or connector for. Every call spends the user's balance.
- **Not what it does:** writing into SaaS apps (posting to Slack, creating CRM records), browser automation, LLM routing.

## Money rules an agent should know

- Every paid call returns `cost_paise` and `balance_paise`. The price shown in `discover_tools` and `inspect_tool` is computed with the same formula and exchange rate that settle the call.
- Only a useful answer is charged. Timeouts, provider errors, empty results and a repeat with the same `idempotency_key` are ₹0. The charge is never more than the hold quoted.
- A 402 `insufficient_balance` means the balance is empty: show the user `topup_url`, do not retry. A 429 `budget_exceeded` names the cap the user set.
- `research` can cost hundreds of rupees: `quote_tool` it and get a yes first.
